Dissolution
Soluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, benzene and mineral acid, almost insoluble in water.
8-hydroxyquinoline is amphoteric, soluble in strong acids and bases, ionized into negative ions in bases, bound to hydrogen ions in acids, and has the lowest solubility at pH = 7.
Specific use
1. As a pharmaceutical intermediate, it is not only the raw material for the synthesis of kexieling, chloroiodoquinoline and paracetamol, but also the intermediate of dyes and pesticides. The product is an intermediate of halogenated quinoline anti amoeba drugs, including quiniodoform, chloroiodoquinoline, diioquinoline, etc. These drugs play an anti amoeba role by inhibiting intestinal symbiotic bacteria. They are effective for amoeba dysentery and have no effect on extraintestinal amoeba protozoa. It is reported abroad that this kind of drug can cause subacute spinal cord optic neuropathy, so it has been banned in Japan and the United States. Diioquinoline causes this disease less than chloroiodoquinoline. 8-hydroxyquinoline is also an intermediate of dyes and pesticides. Its sulfate and copper salt are excellent preservatives, disinfectants and anti mildew agents. The product is a complexometric indicator for chemical analysis.
2. As a complexing agent and extractant for precipitation and separation of metal ions, it can interact with Cu + 2, be + 2, Mg + 2, Ca + 2, Sr + 2, Ba + 2 and Zn+ 2、Cd+2、Al+3、Ga+3、In+3、Tl+3、Yt+3、La +3、Pb+2、B+3、Sb+ 3、Cr+3、MoO+ 22. Complexation of Mn + 2, Fe + 3, CO + 2, Ni + 2, PD + 2, CE + 3, and other metal ions. Organic microanalysis, standard for the determination of heterocyclic nitrogen, organic synthesis. It is also an intermediate of dyes, pesticides and halogenated quinolines. Its sulfate and copper salt are excellent preservatives.
3. Adding epoxy resin adhesive can improve the bonding strength and heat aging resistance to metals (especially stainless steel), and the dosage is generally 0.5 ~ 3 phr. It is an intermediate of halogenated quinoline anti amoeba drugs, as well as an intermediate of pesticides and dyes. It can be used as mildew inhibitor, industrial preservative, stabilizer of polyester resin, phenolic resin and hydrogen peroxide, and also as complexometric titration indicator for chemical analysis.
4. This product is not only the intermediate of halogenated quinoline drugs, but also the intermediate of dyes and pesticides. Its sulfate and copper salt are excellent preservatives, disinfectants and anti mildew agents. The maximum allowable content (mass fraction) in cosmetics is 0.3%. Sunscreen products and products for children under 3 years of age (such as talcum powder) are prohibited, and "prohibited for children under 3 years of age" shall be indicated on the product label. When dealing with bacteria infected skin and bacterial eczema, the mass fraction of 8- hydroxyquinoline in the emulsion is 0.001% to 0.02%. It is also used as disinfectant, antiseptic and bactericide, and its anti mold effect is strong. 8- hydroxyquinoline potassium sulfate is used in skin care cream and lotion (mass fraction) from 0.05% to 0.5%.
