Optical brightener OB-1,2,2- (4,4-distyreneyl) dibenzoxazole is a yellow crystalline substance with a melting point of 359-362 ℃. It is insoluble in water, odorless, and has stable performance. The maximum absorption spectrum wavelength is 374nm, and it has strong fluorescence with a fluorescence emission wavelength of 434nm. Optical brightener OB-1 is an efficient optical brightener used for polyester fibers, and is widely used in plastics such as ABS, PS, HIPS, PC, PP, PE, EVA, and hard PVC. It has excellent whitening effect, excellent thermal stability, and minimal addition.

Optical brighteners can absorb invisible ultraviolet light (with a wavelength range of approximately 360-380nm) and convert it into longer wavelength blue or purple visible light, thus compensating for unwanted slight yellow in the matrix. At the same time, they reflect more visible light than the original incident wavelength in the range of 400-600nm, making the product appear whiter, brighter, and more vibrant.

Use of Optical brightener OB-1

This product is suitable for whitening and brightening plastics such as PVC, PE, PP, ABS, PC, PA, etc. It has low dosage, strong adaptability, and good dispersibility. This product has extremely low toxicity and can be used for whitening plastics used in food packaging and children's toys. It can be added during post-processing or polymerization, and the whitened material has high whiteness and excellent heat and weather resistance. OB-1 can also be made into a paste for textile whitening.

1.From the perspective of temperature resistance:

Optical brightener OB-1 has a melting point greater than 350 ℃ and is currently the most heat-resistant among all optical brightener products. For bosses producing high-temperature resistant plastics, optical brightener OB-1 is more suitable.

As is well known, the plastic industry is a broad and diverse industry with numerous types and characteristics. The production process temperature of most plastic products is relatively high, some even reaching over 300 degrees Celsius. Currently, only the optical brightener OB-1 can withstand such high temperatures, which is also the advantage of the optical brightener OB-1.

2. Judging from the fluorescent light emitted

Different optical brightener products have different colors, some optical brighteners emit blue light, while others emit blue purple light. Most of the raw materials in nature are yellowish, and yellow light combined with blue light produces white light. Therefore, optical brighteners with heavier blue light have better fluorescence and whitening effects, and the amount added is also less.

Optical brightener OB-1 can be divided into green phase and yellow phase in terms of appearance. The fluorescence emitted by the green phase is biased towards blue light, while the fluorescence emitted by the yellow phase is biased towards blue purple light. Therefore, this is why most customers choose the green phase of optical brightener OB-1 nowadays.
